The Wanna-Be Ranger

Kimberly, Trini, Billy, Jason, and Tommy are playing basketball. Kimberly's back is turned when Zack walks up in a monkey outfit and scares her. Zack has just return from his little cousins' birthday party. Jason tells Zack to take off his monkey suit and join them in their game of basketball. Zack takes off the ape costume and joins them. Zordon contacts the Rangers and tells them to come to the Command Center. The Rangers arrive at the Command Center and Trini assumes that Lord Zedd has launched another attack. Instead, Zordon tells the Rangers due to the planets alignment, Zordon must de-ionize. After Zordon de-ionizes, the Rangers are aware that they must stay extra aware and tell Alpha 5 to contact them the moment Lord Zedd does something. The Rangers leave and Alpha 5 states after they are gone not to worry about him being alone in the big, scary Command Center.
Alpha 5 decides to check the area and scans the park. Alpha 5 sees a young boy, Dylan, lost and looking for his mom. Alpha 5 decides not to contact the Rangers, that this is a job he can do and teleports to the park. Bulk & Skull are searching for the identity of the Power Rangers when they hear a strange sound. The strange sound is Alpha 5 who lands in front of them. Bulk & Skull scream and take off. Alpha 5 befriends Dylan and tells him that his mom is looking for him and that they should stay put. Dylan teaches Alpha 5 how to play soccer. Lord Zedd is aware that Zordon has de-ionize and now spots Alpha 5 out of the command center. Lord Zedd sends Primator down to the park. Primator assumes Billy's shape and walks towards Alpha 5 and Dylan. "Billy" tells Alpha 5 that he has been a naughty boy and it's time to return to the Command Center. Alpha 5 realizes that he is not dealing with Billy. "Billy" reverts to his true form of Primator and tries to get Alpha 5 to take him to the Command Center. Alpha 5 tells Dylan to run and activates his own self-destruct button. Primator leaves and goes to the Juice Bar where he takes the shape of Zack. "Zack" walks towards Kimberly and Trini and tells them that Tommy is under attack and weakening. "Zack" tells them he will contact Jason and Billy and Kimberly and Trini leave for the park. Trini and Kimberly teleport to the park and find no Tommy or putties. Trini tries to contact the guys, but gets no answer. The guys are working in Billy's garage and don't hear the communicator. Lord Zedd takes advantage of the situation and sends a group of putties to attack Trini and Kimberly. Trini and Kimberly defeat the putties and return to the Juice Bar where they find the guys. Trini and Kimberly ask Tommy if he is okay and he tells them he has never felt better. Upset, Trini and Kimberly tell Zack that they don't appreciate the joke he played on them. Zack is confused and Jason tells them that Zack has been with them the whole time. Jason tries to contact Alpha 5, but gets no response and they decide to go to the Command Center. At the park, Dylan tries to revive Alpha 5, but has no luck. Alpha 5 tells him he has ten more minutes till he self-destructs. The Rangers entered the Command Center and are happy when Zordon has re-ionized. Zordon tells them about Alpha 5 and Primator. Kimberly and Trini realized that it was Primator who had tricked them at the Juice Bar and apologize to Zack. Zack accepts their apologies and the Rangers want to go to the park to help Alpha 5. Zordon informs the Rangers that Primator is attacking the city and the Rangers morphed and began battling Primator. The Rangers have a difficult time with Primator as Primator assumes the shape of the Yellow Ranger, Black Ranger, and finally the Red Ranger. The Rangers retreat to the Command Center. Zordon shows them the viewing globe and how Primator could not maintain his "Billy" shape once he saw his reflection. With Kimberly's mirror in hand, the Rangers return to battle Primator. Primator assumes the shape of the Green Ranger, but the Rangers are ready for him with their mirror. Primator can not maintain his shape and the battles escalates to zords. The Rangers destroy Primator. The Rangers arrive at the park and find Alpha 5 with Dylan at his side. Billy quickly deactivates Alpha 5's self destruct. Dylan's mom appears and thanks the Rangers for taking care of her son. The Rangers tell her to thank Alpha 5 before teleporting out of the park. The Rangers return to the Command Center. Zordon scolds Alpha 5 for not contacting the Rangers. Trini thinks that Alpha 5 will be ground for at least a thousand years. Alpha 5 is bummed, as now he will never learn to play soccer.
