Rita Repulsa was unable to complete her task of destroying the Power Rangers and taking over Earth. Rita was replaced by Lord Zedd. Alpha 5 and Zordon were prepared for his arrival. Lord Zedd prove more difficult than Rita and new zords were given to the Rangers to help them battle Lord Zedd and his monsters.
Zordon had decided to take time to deionizer. Alpha 5 was distressed over the thought of being in the Command Center all alone. Alpha 5 spotted in the viewing globe, a young boy searching for his mother. Initially, Alpha 5 was going to contact the Rangers, then decided that he would do the job instead. Announcing that he was Alpha Ranger, Alpha 5 transported out of the Command Center. Alpha 5 landed on a sidewalk in front of Bulk and Skull. Bulk and Skull took off in terror. The young boy, Dylan, had no fear of Alpha 5 and soon was trying to teach him how to play soccer. During this time, Lord Zedd released the monster Primator. Primator - disguised as Billy - approached Alpha 5 and scolded him for being out of the Command Center. When Primator saw himself reflected on top of Alpha 5's head, he was unable to hold the illusion and revert back to his monster form. Primator tried to force Alpha 5 to take him to the Command Center. Alpha 5 fought back and put himself on the self-destruct program. Dylan never left Alpha 5's side. With a few remaining minutes to spare, the Power Rangers showed up and deactivated the self-destruct program. Dylan's mothers arrived and the Power Rangers and Alpha 5 returned to the Command Center. Zordon was very disappointed that Alpha 5 had left the Command Center without letting the Rangers know. Alpha 5 was more upset that he would never learn how to play soccer.
Eventually Tommy would leave his green Rangers powers permanently. Alpha 5 and Zordon embarked on their secret mission to create a new Power Ranger. The new White Power Ranger would be Tommy.
The World Peace Summit had arrived in Angel Grove. At the same time, students from Stone Canyon had found out who the White, Pink, and Blue Power Rangers were. Aisha, Adam, and Rocky were summoned to the Command Center where they vowed never to reveal the identities of the Power Rangers. Alpha 5 teleported them a couple of time to the Command Center, to keep them safe. The peace committee had selected Trini, Jason, and Zack. Alpha 5 and Zordon sent them on one last mission - to retrieve the Sword of Light. Alpha 5 and Zordon had already selected three teens to take their place. They had proven themselves on countless occasions - Aisha, Adam, and Rocky. Using the Sword of Light, the power was transferred from Trini, Jason, and Zack to Aisha, Rocky, and Adam.
Alpha 5 was in the Command Center with Rocky, Tommy, and Kimberly. Zordon had been in contact with Aisha, Billy, and Adam. The three had found a crashed space craft in the park that Lord Zedd was after. Billy, Adam, and Aisha teleported to the Command Center. The space craft had been wrapped in a blanket, and Billy unwrapped it. Billy: It's a space craft. It crashed in the park. Zordon: Zedd has been chasing this craft across the galaxy. It is powered by a rate lighting diamond. If Zedd gets the diamond, he can use it to give his Serpentera an infinite power source, making Serpentera invincible. Tommy: Oh man, that's one headache we don't need. Billy: We did see the diamond. Zordon: Billy, open the ships. forward hatch. Billy did so. Alpha 5: We will attempt to communicate with the alien. Kimberly and Billy peered inside the hatch and saw a small figure sitting inside. Kimberly: Wow! What is it? Zordon: He is called a Bookala, from the planet of the same name. Everyone step back. Now Billy, place the diamond in the cockpit, in the Bookala's hands. Observe. The diamond's power will have an almost immediate effect on the Bookala. Suddenly the Bookala appeared normal size in front of them. The teens gasped and backed up. Zordon: Do not be alarmed. The Bookala is merely a traveler journeying to his home planet, many light years away. Bookala began repeating what they said in order to learn their language. Zordon knows Lord Zedd will continue to hunt down Bookala, and they need to help him get back home. Aisha volunteers to make a small toy that looks like Bookala, to trick Lord Zedd. Billy is able to repair the ship. Billy reassures Bookala that they will make sure he gets home okay. Adam, Aisha, and Billy teleport out of the Command Center. Tommy, Kimberly, and Rocky remain to keep an eye on Lord Zedd. The Rangers' plan works. Bookala is able to escape back to his planet. In anger, Lord Zedd created a monster out of the doll Bookala, but the Rangers destroyed it.
Alpha 5 friends had been selected as exchange students to represent the US in Australia. Zordon felt it was a safe time to go, as Lord Zedd would be taking his recharge nap. The Rangers left and Alpha 5 felt quite alone. Zordon let Alpha go outside. Alpha 5 walked around outside and noticed how barren the area is. Alpha 5 tapped into the Morphin grid to produce some flowers. While Alpha 5 was distracted by the flowers, Finster and several putties appeared. Finster placed a virus into Alpha 5. This cause Alpha 5 to turn evil. Alpha 5 tricked the Rangers into teleporting to the Spectre Theater where they had no powers. Nothing Zordon said could stop Alpha 5. Alpha 5 even amused himself by rearranging Zordon's looks. Once the Rangers freed themselves of Spectre Theater, Billy removed the virus from Alpha 5. Alpha 5 returned to normal.
Alpha 5 also had to defuse a bomb planted outside the Command Center. Master Vile had turned back time and subsequently the Rangers were now children. They had discovered that an emery had planted the device outside. Due to their age, the Rangers were unable to help. Alpha 5 took the risk and was successful. He was also a valuable link when the Alien Rangers of Aquitar arrived to help. Alpha 5 was kept busy helping both teams of Rangers - Alien and the young Rangers.
Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa try numerous ways to destroy the Rangers while they were young children, but never could accomplish the task. Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa sent down Goldar and Rito Revolto to set off an explosion device to blow up the Command Center and to steal the zeo crystal. Goldar and Rito Revolto set off the explosion in the Command Center and took the zeo crystal, but in their hurry to get out, drop the zeo crystal. During the explosion, Alpha 5 teleported the now teenage Rangers outside and to safety. When the Rangers discovered the zeo crystal, the ground below them began to shake and they were taken to below the former Command Center. Alpha 5 had been busy setting up their new outpost. Alpha 5 could hear the Rangers and instructed them to walk through the vortex. When they did they saw a sparkling new outpost. Alpha 5 was there to greet them and tell them of the Power Chamber.
Alpha 5 and Zordon had survived the blast. Alpha 5 and Zordon prepared the Rangers for the next chapter in their lives. Although Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa, along with their crew had fled. A new enemy had arrived, the Machine Empire. To battle the Machine Empire, the Rangers were given new powers from the zeo crystal. The Rangers were now Power Rangers Zeo. Alpha 5 had additional help in the Power Chamber. Billy had given up his crystal to Tanya, so that he could help in the Power Chamber.
Mean Screen had managed to infect the computers in the Power Chamber. No matter what Alpha 5 tried, he could not stop the virus from spreading. The zords were infected as well. Alpha 5 concentrated on the Defender Wheel and managed to protect it and get it to the Rangers. Adam appeared with a diskette that Raymond had created an anti-virus. The anti-virus worked and the computers at the Power Chamber were operational once again.
When Tommy's brother David was captured by King Mondo. Alpha 5 keep the Rangers posted on what was going on. The viewing globe was fixed on the cave David was held, and the Rangers could observe David. David managed to escape on his own, and learned that Tommy and his friends were Power Rangers.
Alpha 5 and the Power Rangers soon were receiving help from the mysterious Gold Ranger. The Gold Ranger did not reveal who he was to the Power Rangers, but helped them at every opportunity. The Power Rangers returned the favor, by helping the Gold Ranger. Varox, a bounty hunter, came after the Gold Ranger. The Gold Ranger was hurt and Alpha 5 teleported him to the Power Ranger. When the Gold Ranger recovered, he knew who Alpha 5 and Zordon were. Alpha 5 and Zordon wondered how the Gold Ranger knew their names and who they were.
Alpha 5 greeted Lerigot excitedly in the Power Chamber. Lerigot had good news for Alpha 5 and Zordon. The Rangers arrived and Zordon informed them that he had been given his freedom. The stunned Rangers listened as Zordon explained that a wormhole had opened leading to his planet Eltar. Zordon and Alpha 5 were leaving, although they would leave someone to take their places. Alpha 5 sobbed a little over the news. Lerigot had just started to perform the ceremony to release Zordon when Elgar attacked with an evil fleet of vehicles. The Rangers left to stop him. Alpha 5 and Zordon were aware that the wormhole would not last and considered the fact that they may have to stay. The Rangers returned to the Power Chamber after defeating the evil fleet of vehicles. Lerigot performed the ceremony and Zordon and Alpha 5 were encased in golden showers. Alpha 5 said good-bye to the Rangers before whisking off to the wormhole. The Rangers had to leave again to stop the wormhole closing device that had been planted. When the Rangers returned, Lerigot informed them that Alpha 5 and Zordon had arrived at Eltar. Lerigot himself left soon after.
Alpha 5 and Zordon returned to Power Chamber. Alpha 5 and Zordon were in the ceremony chamber to watch the historic transformation. Tommy, Kat, Tanya, and Adam had selected four outstanding individuals to continue their work as Power Rangers. The new Rangers were Ashley, Cassie, Carlos and T.J. Alpha 5 and Zordon then returned to Eltar.
On Eltar, Alpha 5 and Zordon built robots that were identical to the new Power Rangers.
