Master Phant had taught at the Order of the Claw. His animal spirit is the elephant and he is a master at a special weapon, the Jungle Mace. After numerous years at the claw, Master Phant lived his life in solitude, not caring much about anything. His hut is deep in a forest. Years past and he spotted three teens, Lily, Casey, and Theo walking in his forest. Master Phant disguised his identity with a cloak and watched the teens, hidden among the forest plants and trees. The teens were getting too close to where he lived and Master Phant had to act. Master Phant leaped out and attacked the three teens. Master Phant had a relatively easy time against the teens. When they were defeated, he told them to get out, they were not wanted. Master Phant quickly left. Master Phant went back to his home. He was sitting in his chair in the dark when Casey, Theo, and Lily entered. Lily called out to see if anyone was inside. Master Phant answered. The teens told him who they were looking for and Master Phant told them he was once known as that name. The teens wanted his help. Master Phant called the impertinent children. Lily corrected him. They were not children, but students of the Order of the Claw. Master Phant did not care. Theo told him that Dai Shi had escape. Master Phant got out of his chair. Dai Shi escaping was not good, but it was not his concern. The teens wanted him to teach them how to use the Jungle Mace. Master Phant hadn't look at it in years. It is the weapon for a young warrior, not an old man. Theo noticed the cloak draped on the chair and got it. Theo pointed out he had been the one to kick their butts in the forest. Master Phant got angry and told them to leave. The teens did so. Their morphers went off. Lily told the guys to go ahead. Lily was determined to have Master Phant teach her how to use the Jungle Mace. The guys grinned as Lily planted herself on the front lawn. Lily told the guys to call her if they need her and they took off. Master Phant was not happy and went back inside. After awhile he stepped outside and noticed Lily had planted a garden of flowers. She told him she thought the place could use some cheering up. Master Phant told Lily he hated cheery. Lily remarked she was glad she was not a student of his at the order if he was always so grouchy. Master Phant told her she would have been lucky to have him, he was a great Master. Lily told Master Phant he still was and to teach her. Master Phant was resentful of the fact that after many years with the claw, they had sent him out to pasture. What did he have to live for now? Master Phant told Lily not to bother with the flowers, they would only die anyways and then entered his home once more. Master Phant went to his window and peered out. Lily was under attack by several Rinshi. Lily was not doing well. Master Phant watch for a moment longer and then glanced at his chest, which contained the Jungle Mace. Master Phant got the Jungle Mace and then hurried out of his home. He yelled at the Rinshi to leave his student alone. Lily had been knocked to the ground. Lily watched in amazement as Master Phant battled and destroyed the Rinshi with the Jungle Mace. Lily hurried over to Master Phant and he told her they didn't have much time. The lessons went well and Lily caught on quickly. Later, the Rangers were in battle with giant Pangolin. Master Phant contacted Yellow Ranger and told her to use his elephant spirit. The Rangers did so with great success. With the combination of the Jungle Mace and using the elephant spirit to form the Jungle Pride with Elephant Formation Megazord, the Rangers successfully destroyed Pangolin. Yellow Ranger told Master Phant he is the greatest. Master Phant thanked Yellow Ranger for believing in him. Afterwards, Master Phant felt he had more purpose in his life and took better care of himself. He walked up to his hut and was surprised to see it clean up. Theo, Lily, and Casey had worked hard. The teens took him inside and inside was just as nicely done. Lily told Master Phant it was their way of saying thank-you. Master Phant told Lily this time the teacher had learned from the student. Lily told Master Phant they wanted him to stay in touch, they may need him again. Master Phant reminded them he had the elephant spirit, he would never forget.
