MRS. HAMMOND

Mrs. Hammond (Ashley's Grandmother)
Mrs. Hammond arrived in Angel Grove in a taxi. She had the taxi cab driver wait while she used a pair of binoculars to watch Ashley, who was reading a book in the park. Mrs. Hammond had a manila envelope which she tossed out to her granddaughter. She stepped out of the taxi and lowered her sunglasses as Ashley got the envelope. Ashley looked up and saw her grandmother. Mrs. Hammond chuckled as Ashley ran towards her. They gave each other a hug before getting back into the taxi driver. Ashley asked her grandmother what was in the envelope and Mrs. Hammond replied that it was her future husband. They went to the Surf Spot where Mrs. Hammond laid out photographs of potential husbands for Ashley. Adelle enjoyed looking at the photographs as Mrs. Hammond gave information on each guy to Ashley. When Mrs. Hammond mentioned grandchildren, Ashley exclaimed that she was too young to have kids and get married. Carlos walked up and Ashley, with stomp of his foot, introduced Carlos as her boyfriend. Mrs. Hammond was impressed with Carlos and gave him a closer look as Ashley told her that they had been going out for a year. Adelle chose this time to make her exit. Their communicators went off and Mrs. Hammond wanted to know what had made that sound. Ashley asked her grandmother if she could order drinks for them. Ashley and Carlos took off as Mrs. Hammond look over the menu. Ashley and Carlos were off in a side room, about to morph, when Mrs. Hammond walked in. She ask them questions about what kind of drink they would like. Carlos and Ashley eventually got away. Mrs. Hammond took this time to buy matching shirts for the lovebirds. She met Ashley in the park along with Carlos, Andros, T.J., and Cassie. Mrs. Hammond excitedly took a picture of Carlos and Ashley. Carlos told Mrs. Hammond that they were not really boyfriend and girlfriend. Mrs. Hammond was disappointed at first, but then she fixed them up on their first date. She presented Carlos and Ashley with the matching shirts she had bought. Mrs. Hammond (along with T.J., Cassie, and Andros) kept a close eye on the progress of Ashley and Carlos' date. She hid in bushes and watched them ride a merry-go-round. Mrs. Hammond used her cell phone to call Ashley and asked her how the date was going and what were they talking about. She also instructed Ashley to hold Carlos' hand. Later, Mrs. Hammond followed the pair to the Surf Spot where she left a note instructing the two to share a drink. The Rangers' communicators went off and Mrs. Hammond demanded to know what those things were. The Rangers put her off and they all went outside of the Surf Spot. Several termites were devouring metal objects. Ashley tried to get her grandmother to go somewhere safe, but she refused to leave her granddaughter. Mrs. Hammond and Ashley walked through some rubble and Ashley told her grandmother to go, but her grandmother did not want to leave Ashley in danger. Ashley told her grandmother that she loved her, but that she was smothering her. Mrs. Hammond was stunned by Ashley's outburst. A police officer arrived and Ashley told him to take her grandmother. Ashley left and the police officer tried to walk Mrs. Hammond to his patrol car. Mrs. Hammond flipped the police officer and then took off in his car. She searched for Ashley in the patrol car. Mrs. Hammond was thrilled when the Yellow Ranger raced past. Mrs. Hammond noticed that the Power Rangers were down on the ground and Termitus was about to attack. She raced the car over and knocked Termitus down. Mrs. Hammond yelled at Termitus that if he attacked the Power Rangers, he would have to go through her. As Mrs. Hammond drove the car, she lost control of it. The Yellow Ranger leaped to the side of the car, and slowed it down with her boots on the ground. When the car eventually stop, Mrs. Hammond felt bad. She told the Yellow Ranger she always leap in without thinking and ended up making things worse. The Yellow Ranger told Mrs. Hammond that if she hadn't knocked down Termitus, that he would have had the Rangers for lunch. Mrs. Hammond was pleased by the complement and told the Yellow Ranger, she wished her granddaughter felt the same way. The Yellow Ranger told Mrs. Hammond that if her granddaughter was her, she would feel the same way. As the Yellow Ranger took off, Mrs. Hammond yelled that her grandmother was a lucky person. Another day, Mrs. Hammond prepared to leave Angel Grove. She hadn't given up matchmaking. Mrs. Hammond was making notes on what Adelle would like in a guy. Ashley, Carlos, T.J., Cassie, Andros, and Adelle all walked Mrs. Hammond to her car. Ashley apologized that her grandmother couldn't find a husband for her. Mrs. Hammond told Ashley with friends like hers, she didn't need a husband, at least not yet. Mrs. Hammond waved goodbye to Ashley and her friends and then questioned the taxi driver about his martial status.
